Time flies when you're havin' fun. :) - Monday, May 20, 2013

Hey guys. :)
Life is good. :)

This week was another good one. :) I'm still lovin' my comp, my investigators, my zone, and my area. We're workin' hard, and lovin' every minute of it. :) I really don't think I could be more content.

Taco night at Anni's 5/13/13
Last Monday, after signing off, we made our way over to Anni's house, and had taco night. :) It was really great. Tacos are fantastic. ha. Plus, she's taken to buying hot sauce, cuz she knows we like it so much. Ha. The other two missionaries in our house (Elder Melara and Elder De La Cruz) bet my companion that he couldn't handle lots of hot sauce.... So we doused a near empty taco in hot sauce, and then chanted his name as he downed it. haha. The Dominicans were AMAZED. They are TERRIFIED of hot sauce! Anni was telling him not to do it, cuz she was sure it would damage his insides. haha. Dominicans like bland food... Nuff said. lol.

The hot sauce taco my comp ate. ha.
After our taco fun, we shared a message from the Liahona, and talked about the importance of each individual's role in a family. Families are a unit, and each part plays a key role. If one of the parts is missing, or failing to do their job, its obvious, and the others have to do more to make up for it. We challenged them to focus on their roles, and to do their best to be the best they can be for the good of the whole. :)

Tuesday... I made pizza. With REAL PEPPERONI!!!!!!!!!!! Anni bought it like a week ago, and has been trying to hide it in her kids' food, but they pick it out cuz it's too spicy. haha. So she just gave it to us! I can't even tell you all how happy I was! They only sell pepperoni at rich-people, American-style supermarkets, which we're told not to go to (prolly cuz if you go there, you end up spending all your money on things like pepperoni). Anyway, on Tuesday I made homemade pizza, with cheddar AND mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and then I loaded my half with other yummy things like peppers, and onions and tomatoes (my comp likes simple things. ha, so I left his half plain pepperoni). Not to toot my own horn or anything, but MAN, it was good!! ha.

That afternoon we contacted a lot. And had some decent first lessons. I really like how Elder Meroño works. It's obvious that he's been at this for a while. ha. He is really clear in his teaching, and has contacting/scheduling down to a science. I've learned a ton from him already, and keep learning new things everyday. :) I'm blessed. :) I must have a loving Father in Heaven or something. :)
In the evening we went to the Montero Family's house. And when we walked up, you'll never guess what they were eating... MANGOES!!!! They had a PILE of them, and as we walked up they handed us each a knife, and we just went crazy. haha. I prolly ate 7 or 8 of those things. haha. I'm a huge mango fan... I'm afraid that the ones in the states will be a let down... So I might just skip the homecoming, and just stay here. ;) Sorry mom! ha.

Wednesday is District meeting day. :) Elder Meroño shared a scripture that I really liked from Alma 8: 30-32, and tied it in with a scripture that the ZL's had shared from the same chapter (vs. 27). He talked about the power of the Spirit resting upon us, AFTER the trial of our faith, and AFTER we have "tarried" a while with our companion. He focused on companionship unity, and diligence. :) Definitely a word to the wise.

In the afternoon we had a rockin' lesson with Soani (the lady I told you about last week, she's Anni's friend). We talked about the Restoration, and the importance of gaining a personal testimony of the Book of Mormon. She told us that she's been praying, and that she was praying about the church one night, and she got butterflies in her stomach! But then, she had a bad dream... So she's still not sure. We talked about how the Spirit works, and the need to pay close attention to him. Also, to remember that Satan will be attacking her at every turn during her conversion process.

Thursday, we had a SUPER full day! We taught 9 lessons, and visited 2 recent converts! It was great! 5 of the lessons were with new investigators, and every single one of them accepted our challenge to read, and then ask the Lord if these things are true. :) We've been workin hard in both parts of our area, and have been finding lots of new people. :) Sadly, if I told you about each and every one of them, I'd never leave this internet center. ha. So, I'll tell you about them as they progress and start witnessing miracles. :)

Friday I made hamburgers for lunch. Ha. My companion doesn't like Dominican food... And he doesn't know how to cook... So, I've been branching out (back towards the American tree) a bit. :)
Then after an afternoon of citas, we went over to Jose Luis and Nilka's house for family home evening. :) It was great. I like members of the church. Unlike investigators, and people in the street, they know who we are, and what we do. :) So they treat us really well. For those of you that have missionaries in your ward, FEED them! They love it! haha.

Saturday... My comp came home on Friday night with a headache, and woke up the next morning even worse off than before. He spent the day puking, and sleeping... Sick days are no fun... :( He refused to eat anything, but he accepted some Gatorade and some rehydration juice. :) Other than poking and prodding him, I spent the day reading. :) I got over 200 hundred pages of a Spanish text book read. :) Along with a couple of Liahona's and some scriptures. Ha. I felt accomplished.

Yesterday was bomb.
My comp woke up feeling better, so we went to church. In Sacrament meeting, the bishop called a few youth speakers, and then he got up and talked. He shared a story that hit me pretty hard: A young war veteran called his parents after the war, and told them that he was coming home. They were overjoyed. Then he told them that he was bringing a friend home with him, and wanted to ask  their permission to invite him to live with them. They told him that that wouldn't be a problem; any friend of his, was a friend of theirs. He went on to tell them that his friend had some special needs... He had been wounded in battle and was missing one of his legs and one of his arms. Immediately, his father's tone changed to discomfort as he ummed and ahhed his way through a list of excuses of why his friend would be better off living somewhere else. The son hung up the phone. A few days passed, and the parents received a call from the Police department informing them that their son had fallen from an apartment building window and the incident had been deemed suicide. They hopped on the next flight out to identify the body, and upon their arrival at the morgue, they discovered the body of their son, mangled from the fall, and missing one of his legs, and one of his arms...
The bishop went on to exhort us, each and everyone of us, as members of the church, to think about this story, and to apply it in our lives. We should all be willing to help our fellow man, despite the inconvenience or our personal relation to them. Christ taught the same principle with the Parable of the Good Samaritan. I know that we as sons and daughters of God have been sent here to help each other. We can't make it back to live with him on our own. We've gotta forget ourselves, give up the comforts of the world, and look at those in need through Christ's eyes. He loves us. And he uses his Disciples to show that love. Let's make an effort to be those Disciples, and to show that love.
Then, in the afternoon, we had another lesson with Soani. She came to church with us, so she had lots of questions, and we talked about the Plan of Salvation. And then she told us that she's sure she's on the right path. She knows God made our paths cross, and she's sure she's supposed to be Mormon. :) She told us that if her husband comes home from his job in Haiti, and doesn't go to church with her, she's kicking him out. haha. I really hope that won't be the case, but it made me smile. :)
In the evening we did some contacting, and the first house we decided to contact was Sandra's house. :) She's a lady we contacted into a week or so ago, she accepted us really openly, but told us that she had plans to move... Well, we went back to her old house, and she wasn't home... We figured we had lost her, and went on with our day. Well. God wants he to hear our message, so we were lead to her new house. :) She was SO happy to see us. She apologized for not being at her old house when we passed by, and asked us when we could come over. :) We have an appointment with her, and her Husband Edward and their little boy this Wednesday night. :) I'll let you know how it goes. :)

Today, we got up, and super duper deep cleaned our house. Dominican women everywhere would be proud. haha.

I have been trying to attach photos to this thing, but it's not letting me... So I'll keep trying. If not, I'll sent them next week. :)

I love you all, and hope your week is a good one!

I know this church is true!!!

Love,

Elder Cade Mooney

My comp told me he didn't want to put pants on... So I told him I'd be fine with him going out like that. haha.

FAMILY!!!!!!!! - Monday, May 13, 2013

Ha. It was SO good to see/talk to you all yesterday!! :) Just think, only 7 months til Christmas and we'll do it again! Then, 3 short lil months after that we can hug! :) Time is a funny thing. I thought the mission would never end when I was first starting out... But now I feel like it might be moving a little too fast... TAYLOR GOES HOME NEXT MONTH!!!! So nuts!

Anyway. My week was great. :)

Monday after talking with you all, Elder Fassett and I went and said goodbye to all our investigators... :( Goodbyes aren't fair... It was super hard, and I'm not even the one being transferred! Then we came home and had a chill night with some Banana Smoothies while Fassett packed, and we talked.

Elder Meroño and I at the Montero family's house 5/7/13
Tuesday morning we got up bright and early, called a taxi, and headed to the Transfer Chapel! Luckily when we got there, my new comp was already waiting for us, so we said our goodbyes "quick like a band aid" and then I hopped back into the taxi with a stranger... haha. Turns out, he's an all right guy. We spent the morning chillin at the house so he could get unpacked and get some laundry done meanwhile getting the "get to know you" stuff out of the way. ha. My new comps name is Elder Meroño. He's like 5'10" (sorry Chunker), his parents are from Spain (hence the dark, European look) but they didn't teach him a lick of Spanish... So he still counts as a Gringo. haha. But never the less, he's been out for 18 months and speaks Spanish really well, also knows how to teach really well, so I plan on learning lots of new things during our time together! He's really just a SUPER chill kid. His sense of humor is dry and witty, and so far we're getting along just great! Lots of sass, and snide comments of course. lol. I'll let you know if things go south as the transfer goes on... ha. just kidding. Things don't go south for missionaries! DUH EldeMooney! lol.

Wednesday was wet... Ha. We went to Yoel's to get my hair cut in the morning, and while we were there we got dumped on... Luckily we went down there in gym shorts and shower sandals, cuz we had to wade all the way up the street in a river of rain water.
Then, that afternoon, after a solid lesson with Anni about temple work and family history, she took us over to her Sister-in-law, Suani's, house. Turns out, she's a lady that we had previously contacted, but told us that she would get back to us when she felt like it was time to join a church. Whelp! Now's the time! ha. She says it must be a sign that we talked to her a while back, and that now that she's looking for a church, Anni brought us to her. She just had a surgery on her throat, so we are taking things slow, but apparently after tomorrow she's off doctor's house arrest, and has plans to go to church! :)

Thursday we had a cool experience. :) While contacting on Tuesday we talked to this little girl that told us her mom wasn't home, but that we could come on in! Ha. Obviously we didn't go in, but we felt something special about the house, and thought it was cool that that little girl accepted us (random, American strangers) like family. Well, Thursday we walked passed the house again and both felt like we should go see if the parents were home. :) They were. We talked to the mom, and she told us that one of her daughters is Mormon, and that the missionaries are over at her parents house (in another city) all the time! She's got lots of experience with the church, and seems interested in becoming a member. So we'll keep passin by! :)

Friday was good. :)
We had a follow up lesson with Suani (the reference we got from Anni), and she had already read the great majority of the pamphlet we left with her! :) We talked to her about prophets, and helped her understand the importance of having that connection between heaven and earth. So far she is liking what she hears, and already has plans to get her husband in on the lessons when he comes back from working in Haiti. :)

Then in the evening, we had a first sit down with an older couple that kinda just blew our minds! They were SO excited to have us there! They were literally sitting on the edges of their seats just waiting for us to show up for our appointment! They have been together for 25+ years, have two kids, and have spent the last several years looking for a church, but none have felt right... So they've been listening to preachers on the radio, and studying the Bible the best they could on their own. :) It's still too soon to tell, but based on the feelings in their home, and the way that they so willingly accept the things we share with them, I'd say we've found a fairly golden couple. :) Vidal (the dad/husband) had us set up a time with them for the next visit when their kids will be home. :) They live really close to the church, but Vidal has a 24 hour on, 24 hour off work schedule, so he only has work off every other Sunday, and when he has it off he gets home exhausted (from his 24 hour shift) at 8 am... Which is when our meetings start... :( We're gonna have to talk to him about the importance of church attendance, and the blessings that come from sacrifices. But hey, with God, nothing is impossible! Right??

My new comp and I at the Zone meeting! 5/10/13
Saturday morning we got up bright and early to head on over to the Elders from Barrio 4's area for a service project! :) We dug holes and set the posts/beams to start the frame of the house, then we had to go home to get ready to work! :) It was a BLAST! We got dirty, and sun burned, and ate spaghetti and all that other fun stuff that you get (like warm fuzzy feelings) when you do service. ha.
Then in the afternoon we had a member take us over to a less active's house. Bishop had asked us to visit with them, and we finally pegged down a time when both the Husband and the Wife were home. They are really great people. :) I really like less active people. ha. I understand their hard feelings towards dumb Mormons... haha. So far I don't think they'll come back to church in the next couple weeks (unlike the last two families we reactivated who really just needed a lil push/invitation), but we've got plans to visit with them every week and just love them for who they are til they realize that not all Mormons are stupid and judgey. :)

Yesterday was all about you guys. :) We got up, called and woke up our moms, and then went to church and just felt nervous and trunky for three hours! haha. Then came home, cooked some lunch, then went over to Ixel and Angela's house to chat with you people. :) Thanks for that. :) Really though. You guys are what keeps me going. All evening long after talking with you I was just happy, and super excited about missionary work!
After our talk we had another lesson with Vidal and Mari. :) They were just as excited to see us as the first time. :) The kids were there too, but didn't want to talk to us quite yet. Which is all right. They'll come around. :) We talked to the parents about the Family, and the plan that God has for us to return and live with Him as an eternal family. Then explained a bit about prophets and the great apostasy. :) We'll save the juicy restoration stuff for next week. ha.
And then we had a lesson with Santos, a recent convert, after taking a short cut through a swamp in the dark to get to his house. haha. Sometimes I forget that I live on a tropical Island and "random short cuts" just don't work the same here... haha. But we made it, covered in mud, but we made it and still had time to have a good talk with Santos and his family about the importance of choosing good friends/acquaintances. The people we associate with really do effect the way we think and act. Make good choices!

Playin Basketball at our combined zone activity 5/13/13
Today we spent the morning at our chapel playing volleyball and basketball with everyone from our zone, and from the zone of San Geronimo. :) It was good to see everyone again, and to relax and talk about our skype session/phone calls with our families and stuff. :)

I hope you're all doing well and loving life! I sure am! Missionary work is great! No complaints! God loves His children, and I get to spend my days telling them that! What could be better?!?! Ha.

I love you all! Keep on keepin on!

Love,
Elder Cade Mooney

I'm 13 Months Old!! I'm Officially Over the Hill and On the Way Down - Monday, May 6, 2013

Hey Family!
How was your week?? Mine was great! Obv. I'm a missionary!

Tuesday we had an intercambio... With... THE ZONE LEADERS! Ha. Luckily we have some pretty bomb town ZLs. Elder Fassett and Elder Melara (yeah, we're still a trio) stayed in our area with Elder Maldonado, and I went with Elder Richardson to their area. :) It was a blast! I learned A LOT! Elder Richardson is from Utah, but grew up in Hawaii. His dad is a Spanish professor at BYUH, so he got to be a surfer kid that spent more time at the beach than I'll ever dream of! Also, his Spanish is unreal! He has a handle on the subjunctive form that most natives don't even fully comprehend. Wow... He goes home the same time as Taylor. Makes me wonder how boss Tay's Chinese must be. haha. Weird. Taylor speaks Chinese... Like a Chino...

Wednesday we had one heck of a leadership conference! We spent the afternoon learning how to run things in our Zones and Districts, and then President got up at the end and told us all a few tidbits about life. Man does that guy know a lot! He talked to us about the need to understand the rules (and the commandments) before trying to teach them to others. Then he spent a good while talking to us about attitude. If we have a good attitude about things, life is SO much easier. He shared a quote from one of the members of the 70, "Life is 10% what happens to us, and 90% how we react to it." Also, God likes to bless us when we react well! He cited Nephi's reaction from 1 Nephi 3:7 as opposed to that of his brothers, as well as the reaction of the Brother of Jared in Ether 3. Both of those Book of Mormon prophets were faced with fairly daunting tasks... But instead of murmuring they accepted the challenge with faith and good attitudes! AND THEY WERE BLESSED! Let's all be like Nephi and Mohonri Moriancumer!

Thursday was normal. We had some good lessons, one of which was with Jisela, Daniela, and Dilka. We talked to them about the Word of Wisdom. It went SO well! Jisela expressed an immense amount of joy when she heard that alcohol and coffee were both against God's commandments! She used to be an avid coffee drinker, but as of 2 years ago she's been unable to drink it because of the damage it's done to her stomach. Also, she works in a factory where they clean alcohol bottles to recycle them, and she said that she's had burn marks left on the floor from alcohol spills... She hasn't ever been a drinker cuz she assumes alcohol does the same thing to your insides. :) All three of them committed to live the Word of Wisdom, and to respect their bodies in the way God has asked. :) Our church is true. It still blows my mind that Joseph Smith received revelation on all that like 100 years before science came out with the same verdict. :) God loves us, and He wants nothing but the best for us. We've just gotta trust Him, and obey Him with a good attitude! If you're not obeying God at the moment, fix it! If you're obeying Him with a crappy attitude, cut it out! Life is just better all around when God's got your back.

Friday morning we made our way out to Julio's house. :) We had a good talk about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and then we had lunch with him and his wife. :) Guess what we ate! Rice and Beans! ha. And chicken! It was really good! The cool thing about eating rice and beans for every meal is that I've come to appreciate well made rice and sufficiently seasoned beans. ha. It truly is an art. ;) Also, we witnessed something that explains EVERYTHING... Carmen (Julio's wife), blended up and strained some of the beans into their 6 month old baby's bottle, and she DOWNED it!!! ha. It all makes SO much sense!! These people start eating rice and beans before they can even chew!! Ha. Dominicans...

Saturday was a fiasco... Besides the fact that we hit our 13 month mark and we're both still here. Anyway, we had this great big movie night planned (one of our many plans to get our ward excited about missionary work), we announced it in church last week, and we invited out investigators... Well... The second counselor left us hanging without keys to the Technology closet... So we had to cancel our movie. We ended up just sending the DVD home with a family to watch on their own... Ha. It was actually kinda funny. We'll try again in a couple weeks. :)

Yesterday we had a great Ward Counsel meeting! That hasn't happened in over 6 months! ha. We area making some progress!!! The Bishop talked about the need to support the missionaries more, and he said he's putting together a list of people to leave with us every week! We're hopin' for the best!

In the evening, we passed by Chole's birthday party (the Granddaughter of a member), and talked to some of the adults (Hermana Angela's family and friends) and also visited with Ixel and Angela so that Elder Fassett could say his goodbyes. :(

Chole's Birthday party! haha. 5/5/2013
Elder Fassett and Elder Mooney with Ixel the Payasa 5/5/13

At 9:30 ish, transfer calls came! Elder Fassett is leaving me... :( Way sad. But he's going to La Paz, in the Zone of Independencia! Which is the area next door to my first area. :)

I will be receiving Elder Meroño. The name is deceiving. ha. He's actually American. From Cedar City, UT. His parents are from Spain or something. So far I've been told that he's one of the chillest kids in the mission. So I'll let you all know how things are going next week!

Anyway. We gotta go! Elder Fassett still has to say bye to a couple of families tonight. Including the Montero family... :( We're preparing for a flood of tears. But hey, Goodbye is just another chance to say Hello. :) We will all see each other again someday soon! :)

I love you all! I know what's up. I hope you all do too.

Love,

Elder Cade Mooney

The two tailed lizard that lives on our patio. I'm determined to catch a photo of him with his red and orange throat puffed out. Stay tuned. :) 5/6/13

A Week as a Trio! - Monday, April 29, 2013

Hey Fam Bam!

Real time Photo of the Tropic Trio!
This week was a little bit interesting! I dunno if I told you or not, but the Dominican kid in our District (Elder Gonzalez) was just here as a visa waiter... So this last Tuesday we got a call and were told to be in our house at 8:30 to meet the Assistants and say our goodbyes. Just like that he was out the door, and the following morning he was on a plane to the Main Land (Mexico) to serve his Full Time Mission. :) The Assistants told us they'd swing by with a mini missionary (a youth aged member to fill in as a missionary til transfers) to be Elder Melara's new companion, but I guess minis are few and far between at the moment, so we've just been chillin and waiting for them to come. Ha. It's been cool to have two comps. I've actually really enjoyed it. It makes our lessons more interesting, and we just have more lessons in general cuz we've been trying to visit the investigators in both Areas... ha.

On Wednesday we had a really cool lesson with Anni. She was feeling bummed about trying to be faithful, but not seeing any results... She brought up her friend that's been a faithful Christian her WHOLE life and has had nothing but trials come her way. We ended up using our trio powers, and each shared the scriptures that came to mind. Elder Fassett shared Alma 41:10, I shared 2 Nephi 2:27, and Alma 50:20, and then Elder Melara brought down the house with D&C 122:7. It was really cool. :) After talking about the difference between the happiness God offers and the happiness Satan offers, she had a complete change of attitude and we left her with a big ol' smile on her face. :)

Then that evening we went over to the Church to have a meeting with the second Counselor in the Bishopric, and we had a good talk about some activities and a fireside that the we (the missionaries) are gonna put on in the next couple months! I am stoked to start getting this ball rolling! Our ward has lots of potential to grow and progress, but with out the help of our ward members, it's a slow process... ha. If any of you are blessed to live in a ward with full time missionaries, HELP THEM! They need you! Start talking to your friends! They need the Gospel!

On Thursday we got up extra early so we could get our Yoga done before we had to study and plan. haha. It's part of P90X and it's legit. lol. We're actually getting pretty good! We can do all kinds of crazy balance postures and we're WAY more flexible than we were 2 months ago. haha. After that, and a solid study sesh we did some weekly planning, ate our lunch, and then went out to work. One of our many first lessons ended up being super great! We contacted them on Tuesday, and didn't really expect much cuz they were the epitome of "motley crew." ha. When we talked to them the first time, there were like 5 huge, tattoo covered guys sitting outside, but when we went back, there were only two of the original 5 along with their girlfriends, and a couple other people that live in the house. ha. Christian is a big black guy with a skull tattoo going down his left arm, and some other stuff tattooed all over his back. haha. Estiven is a Vin Diesel look-alike, and wears gold chains and earrings. haha. They are hard core. But secretly believe in God and want more out of their lives than that which they are currently sacando. ha. We had a solid 45 minute discussion with them, and they asked us all kinds of questions about what we believe, and how they can learn more. I'm excited to watch them progress and learn more about their Savior Jesus Christ. :) Missionary work is cool. :)

Friday we had a lesson with a new family we've been teaching. A mom (Ladi) and her two daughters. They've been letting us come over and talk with them for about a week now, and every time we go over there they've got brighter smiles on their faces. :) It's cool how quickly the gospel takes root in the hearts of men, and immediately begins to change them. :) During our lesson on Friday afternoon, we talked about the First Vision, and invited them to read the Book of Mormon. Ladi responded with a resounding YES, and then asked us if we believe in destiny. Ha. We told her that we believe that God has a plan or a destiny laid out for us, and that if we make righteous decisions, we can have all that he has in store for us. After our brief explanation, she said "God must be happy with my decisions, because I know He sent you guys to me." :) I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY! I am SO blessed to be a part of all the lives of these incredible Children of our Heavenly Father! He is SO good to me!

Saturday was a walking day... We had to cover some lessons in our area, and then we went to Elder Melara's area to invite all his investigators to church, and to visit the Bishop... Then we walked clear out to the far end of our area to teach the Montero family... Ha. To say the least, I slept well that night! But it was a really good day! We had some good lessons, and had a really nice visit with the Bishop and his family. We had a good talk about the progress we've made with the Less Active families he's asked us to visit, and we also reminisced a little bit about Ocoa, cuz that's where he grew up, and that's where I just came from!

Yesterday was dece. We had a good time at Church. I taught a Sunday school lesson on Repentance which was really well received. Then we came home just long enough to eat some lunch before hitting the streets again. We had some good lessons in the afternoon got some contacting done, and then as we were headed home for a Sunday snack, the rain started... It was insane!!! The streets filled up like rivers and we had rain coming in our windows... Ha. Luckily we walked in our door before it got nasty, so we didn't get all that wet, but man... when it rains in the DR, it POURS!

Today was great! We got up this morning, cleaned our house, and then went over to our church (cuz Miguel from Ocoa called me last night and said he was gonna be there), little did we know, there was a regional young single adult activity going on! We got to listen to the last part of Sister Cornish's talk and then Elder Cornish's talk. Then we got to visit for a few minutes with people from our old Areas. :) It was AWESOME! Ivan and Miguel were both there from Ocoa, and basically my whole ward family from Independencia were there! Amelia, Gracie, and Agustin Guzman were there, along with Bertilio and his boys, Marcel, Elizaneth, Nelly, Alba, Katy and Rafael, Mulk and Natanaiel, and a whole bunch of other people! It was SO good to see them all! They are all doing well, and as far as I know, all my converts from both areas are doing well and active! Ivan has plans to go on a mission pretty soon here, and Mulk was there with his MORMON girlfriend!! It was AWESOME!
Then we took a trip to the Nueve. It's a little touristy place where they sell lots of shoes, and hats, and other little things like that. Ha. We went to find Elder Fassett a cheap watch. Mission Accomplished. :)

Now, as you can see, I am here in this chair yet again finishing up a weekly email. It's crazy to me how time flies by... They say, "life is like a roll of toilet paper; the closer you get to the end, the faster it goes!" ha. I'd say that applies to the mission as well. Time just keeps moving faster. I'll blink and be right back here talking to all of you again. :)

Until then,
Much love,

Elder Cade Mooney

These are the Mangos on the tree outside my window. ha. As you can see, it's almost mango season!!
